No real pressure for the 'Hawks to change the name. Part of that I believe is the fact it's been well cited in the team's history account how the team was named and the honor it bestowed. Another part I believe is since hockey doesn't garner the national interest of the other three, the 'Hawks have flown a bit under the radar.

I saw your original title and thunk nothing of it. There's just idiots wandering around looking to be offended. You did nothing wrong. PC has gone completely out of control. And 99% of the uproar is by these noisy wheels that are not part of the group that is supposedly 'offended'.

Good game by the 'Hawks last night. After the Saturday debacle they had to come out and play like they did 4-9 months ago. Too bad for the Wild they were in the way. Not too many teams would have beat the 'Hawks last night. Now they have to repeat the effort and results tonight.

It really wasn't a big deal and I didn't make a big deal of it. I was just making the simple point that it could be offensive to people and since there are infinite other options, why not change it? If you're a writer, you should be aware of things like that. To Dean's credit, he changed it without any of the nonsense that followed by the posts.

I think we are on the verge of some pretty entertaining history making battles between the Wild and BlackHawks. The Wild has built the foundation with young players and I think the Central Division is going to be a warzone this season.

Although Backstrom looked good through the first half of the game, I whole heartedly agree. I think this is now Hardings team if he can stay healthy.

Sick of everyone having to constantly walk on egg shells because some politically correct bumhole feels the need to censor anything that "could be offensive to people". Someone inadvertantly makes a remark that is completely ambiguous but left open to suggestion nonetheless and every leftie with an axe to grind crawls out of the wood work to save us from someones feelings getting hurt... It's 2013, we're not going backwards so you might want to just come along and be a little more responsive to other people. There's countless reasons why it pays to be just a little more careful about what we say and/do concerning ethnic groups. I don't really have the time or desire to get into this, but it's all in your 8th grade history book if you need some evidence as to why this one particular title was a little outside the bounds.

If there was a way to email or message the blogger, I would have just done that. But it's a public forum so I sent a very straight forward recommendation that was accepted graciously and maturely by the writer. Stop standing up for your outdated values and get on with your day.

I also believe that there is no law against being openly racist for that matter, but that isn't what we're arguing about here. He knew what your intent was but still made sure you were aware that "someone might be offended"... Too many people now days spend way to much free time being offended, worrying about being offended and seeking out reasons to be offended when there is nothing to offend them. I just get tired of it. I know I probably should have just let it go, but it gets tiresome. Life is far too short to constantly live in fear of possibly offending someone. (frank) that.

I think the more I write here and the more you get to know me, you will come to see I appreciate the right to each and every one to an opinion/take and welcome it. I changed the headline because it was not reflective of my intent and I appreciated that possibly it could be misconstrued to be my sneaky purpose to attract attention. I also agree with your ideology in principle especially working in Law Enforcement, I see some very clear cases of false outrage and created controversy for less than honorable intentions and in redicuridiculous circumstances. Internet Trolling is just a newer form of attention seeking behavior but really no different from non-technology attention seeking behavior. It all comes from a negative place and is by no means productive or worthwhile to feed into.
